Ah Spring, Where Art Thou?

Not only do I love browsing others' blogs for crafty ideas, decor inspiration and a daily dose of pet adorableness, I also like to admire the beautiful burst of colours from flowering gardens at this time of year. It makes me yearn for our own weather to improve so I can begin planting my own.

On the weekend, the weather finally got warm enough for the last of snow to melt. Nearly a month late, Winnipeggers stepped out of hiding indoors, wincing in the unfamiliar warmth of the sun as they shed boots and parkas for flip flops and shorts.

I too joined in the exodus outside and cleaned off the patio, put out my planters hauled out my turtle sculptures and arranged them "just so" on my freshly-swept deck.

At last, Spring Had Arrived.

Or so I thought.

Because this is what greeted me this morning:

Poor birdies... they were having a ball feasting at my thrift-store bird feeder filled with seeds and nuts on Sunday. Today it's ice-covered. And It's.Still.Snowing!

It IS May, isn't it? Because I have an uneasy feeling that I need to put away the Halloween decor, and start getting to those Christmas cards I always leave too late to make.

  1. I would have pitched a major hissy feet waking to snow. lol It's a relief to know that the shovels, salt and parkas can be put away.
