2Peas Wednesday Blogger Challenge

Fave patterned paper line right now: Basic Grey ... just started getting these up here and I LOVE it!
Fave kind of ribbon: I just use the Bobbin ribbons or Michael’s brand ... I know bo-ring ...
Fave embellishment you just love using: I love using Primas!
Fave font: Scriptina ... perfect for a stylish addition!
Fave cardstock: Bazzil! I am making my own swatch kit; every time we use a new color, I clip off a small rectangle, punch out a hole, write the color name on the back and string it on a jump ring. It's great to refer to later, or when I am not at the LSS to match up colors I need
Fave rubons: Have yet to try these
Fave alphabet stickers: Haven’t used these either!
and last but not least, your most fave scrapbooker, someone you look up to.. and admire?? Have anyone? Nope…I like looking at the variety of styles and creations from 2Peas members and magazine submissions ... I don't know much about these “celebrity” scrapbookers people talk about!

Cross Stitch Roses

I made this piece as a gift for my parents when I first started cross-stitching in the early 90's. It was my first attempt at using linen instead of aida cloth...that is, instead of having specific "holes" in which to pull the threads through, you have to count the threads double across and down on the linen. It was a lot of work and you have to use a small needle, but it is the perfect cloth to do a finely detailed piece ... and the background ends up looking so nice without a bunch of large holes in the cloth!

Saturday's 2Peas Blogger Challenge....

A bit early, but hey, it's probably Saturday somewhere right now...

Do you scrapbook your pets?
Are you an obsessed pet owner?
How important is your pet in your life?
What are/were you present/past pets?
Any special memories?

Well, I have done a LOT of layouts of our 2 cats and 1 dog. These are "present" pets...so far I haven't scrapped any "past" pets, as I really don't have any good photos...now, I really enjoy using my digital camera to be able to get in close and get some great photos to scrap.

I wouldn't say I am an obsessed pet owner; but I do believe that having pets with children is a good way to teach responsibility and the circle of life. Heather has been around cats, dogs, mice, hamsters and fish all her life. She has had the joy of taking care of something that depends upon her, and has experienced the sadness of a pet's passing. We all learn to appreciate the time we have with our furry family members and often laugh at their antics. Each pet has a unique personality and we adore them all. I can't imagine our family without some kind of pet...it makes our house a home.

You can click on my link on the right to visit my pages at 2Peas to see more of what I have done, but here are a couple of my favorites:
Bathtime for Dakotah. Sheba, the grey and older cat, giving young Dakotah a bath, much to her dismay...

Casey, our 9 year old dog. We fostered her from the Humane Society at just 4 weeks of age,and has been a part of our family ever since.

Thursday's 2Peas Blogger Challenge

Today's challenge: What's on your bookshelf right now?
What are you reading? Share about the books you are reading RIGHT NOW!

Easy one for me! I am almost half-way through "Angels and Demons". I really enjoyed "The DaVinci Code" and got Dan Brown's other book for Mother's Day. I am loving this one too; it is very long, about 700 pages, but I am flying through it, finding it difficult to put down to get other things done!

I haven't seen "DaVinci" in the theatre yet, but reading Robert Langdon's first adventure has been fun, picturing him as Tom Hanks...hope they do this one in a movie too, one day! If you like DaVinci (the book), make sure you read this one too!

Another wolf...this time in cross stitch

I guess I like wolves...we have a few decorating our home. This was the very first cross stitch project I did, back in 1993 as a gift to hubby for Christmas. I was such a newbie, I didn't realize aida cloth came in different colors and stupidly cross stitched in ALL the black background! Doh! Live and learn....
