Puppy Love
Today's card uses my Giggling Tilda stamp. I thought about what would make a little girl giggle.... and instantly thought "puppy kisses"!
So I drew a puppy for Tilda, coloured him in with Copics and cut him out to match up with her cheek.
This is my first attempt at using bulky flowers and greenery that I so fell in love with on many cards I have seen lately. Here's a different angle to see the dimension:
As usual, click on the images for larger versions. I hope you like her and get a giggle too!
Copics used:
Skin: E00, E11, R20
Hair: E13, E25, E49, E51
Dress, Socks & Sentiment: RV00, RV11
Dog: W1, W3, W5, E30, E31, E33, E35, R20, R21
Paper is Basic Grey Sugared Cherished
Leaf Frond and Pine Branch punches, Martha Stewart
Large Roses: Modern Romance Eva Flower Rose (Michael's Bridal Section)
Small Roses: Prima

ReplyDeleteMaureen your puppy is perfect for Tilda's expression! We are going to be wanting these in stamp form!!! Your work is fantastic! Adorable card with your flowers too!
ReplyDeleteMaureen, I agree with Barb! You are so artistic you should be an illustrator for a stamp or digi image company. I love the puppy you drew for Tilda! So cute! Keep your eyes open...companies are looking for illustrators! Hugs, Cami

Your card is Adorable! Love the addition of the dog...you are one talented Lady!
ReplyDeleteHa, Barb! Thank you so much, you are too kind...Yes, I LOVE the flowers. Obviously I shall be using more ;)
ReplyDeleteGina: Aw thank you! I am glad he made you smile! Maybe I can draw him again in another card... hmmm.
Patti.Jo: Thanks! Ha! That would be weird to see my drawings in a stamp.
Cami: Oh, thank you, so sweet of you to say! I sure am having fun adding to the sweet Tildas; every day I get another idea for a new one. Good thing I have another vacation day coming up...
Thank you Mary Beth!
Christine: Thanks! I think it could make a good card for someone getting a new puppy... but for now, I'm keeping it ;)
Aw, thank you Cissy! It took me THREE tries to get Tilda's colouring right. I just didn't like the colour combos I tried first (and second). * Sigh *
Oh Polka Dot Paperie, thank you so much. I love to draw and make cards, so these new stamps are fulfilling two loves of mine! (Plus the Copics are just like painting, so I really enjoy using them too!)
Thank you Suzie!
Thanks Stampin Mindy, but the dog isn't a stamp! I hand-drew him (which is why he matches up to Tilda's cheek!)
Aw, Marion, thank you! I have a couple more ideas I hope to make this weekend; luckily I have Monday off, so I hope to get a few more done (good thing my stamps are arriving nearly daily; I have 16 now, with another 14 on the way. That should do me for a bit, no?)
Oh thank you Cindy! I was happy he turned out. After I coloured him in, I found the paper which just so happened to have the same colour in it! Again, I was lucky...
Aw, Charmain, I am so pleased it gave you a smile! What better praise is there? Thank you!
Nancy, you are too kind. I am having fun trying to come up with something I can add to make my cards "unique" I guess. It's so easy when you start out with such cute stamps!
Oh Norma, thank you so much!
Yay Nancy! I am so glad he gave you a smile!!! :)
Gloria, thank you! I am so glad others like it and the dog... if I draw him again, I think I may have to name him!
ReplyDeleteYour card is just beautiful and the puppy completes the message this card conveys. Love it! Cheers, Lora Sinkler-Lake www.crazystamper.typepad.com

Cute, cute, cute card!!! Love the puppy!!!
ReplyDeleteMaureen your card is just DARLING!!! I love your puppy and would buy it in a minute if you were selling it as a digi image. Why in the world aren't you selling your own work in some form?
ReplyDeleteI think this is the cutest card with giggling Tilda - your idea with the puppy is 'right on'. Love the style of your card as well and your new flowers :o)Those little hearts stole my own heart away....
