April and May have historically been busy months for us with numerous birthdays and celebrations, but this year was exceptionally
I wasn't totally craft-deprived during the past few weeks though. I did get a few projects done.
I knitted my very first pair of socks!
I made a cowl from super-chunky yarn:
A few cat blankets to keep my company comfy in the Studio:
Just today I completed my first triangular kerchief:
And I made a few cards (daughter's birthday card will be shown in my next post):
So.... what's new with you? Oh yeah... I need to do some blog visiting! That's next on my "To Do" list!
You've been so busy and accomplished sooo much. Beautiful socks! They are all beautiful! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you Lannie. I can't believe how fast the month went... geesh.
DeleteSounds like you've had a really busy time. Wondering where the colour inspiration came from for the cowl beside the cat??? The kerchief is lovely and I am laughing at your other pics as most of my best work is to be found under a cat too.
ReplyDeleteHa! The yarn I found back in March when daughter and I were at knitting class... when I was blocking it, Tawnee decided it was HERS. Yes, cats have a way of sitting on all knitting it seems; especially during photography sessions.
DeleteHello Maureen, your socks are wonderful, you are a talented knitter! How wonderful your parents have found another lovely place to live....such memories must of been made in your childhood home.
ReplyDeleteXo
Thank you Dagmar! Yes, it is with mixed feelings that they moved. Good memories indeed.
DeleteI adore handmade socks and those look SO cozy, as do the kitties!
ReplyDeleteThey are! And yes, the rib stitch for their blankets really made the yarn very squishy and comfy. There is always a cat in my Studio... now they don't have to lie on hard wood. :)
DeleteLove the color on your socks, and the triangular kerchief were beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I do have the majority of my yarn in cool colours - I love blues and greens!
DeleteYour knitting projects are excellent! I've just spent the last month shooting pics, crafting and getting out of the house to walk!
ReplyDeleteThank you JoJo! I have really been enjoying your touring photos - like I said before, you should be hired by your local Tourism Board!
DeleteYour socks are gorgeous! I can't believe they are your first pair! Certainly looks like you've been busy crafting :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! Those socks were a challenge, but I was so thrilled to finally discover the secret to making them (and a real heel!). I know I will be making more...
DeleteI think you should stop posting at all! You are making a lot of us look really bad. Just kidding ;-). Your knitting is AMAZING!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha! Oh Sarah, you know you are to blame for getting me hooked on knitting... since February I have been obsessed with Ravelry and yarn! Thank you.
DeleteYou sure have been busy creating some beautiful things. Hope your mom and dad are getting settled in their new home.
ReplyDeleteYes, it has been busy - looking forward to a calmer summer.
DeleteMaureen you are a lady of many talents.....knitting socks! WOW, they look amazing, bet they are lovely and warm. Your triangular scarf is lovely too. Hope your parents have settled into they're new home. Karen.x
ReplyDeleteThank you Karen! Yes, they are super soft and comfy. I just love wearing them around the house. I will definitely be making more, now that I've discovered the "secret" of how to make them! ;) Yes, my parents are all moved in and I think are settling in well. Thanks.
